IAAPA Asian Expo 2006 — the amusement and attractions industry’s largest gathering in Asia — maintains its popularity and esteem as recognized companies in industry plan to exhibit. The Expo is being held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, July 12-14, 2006.

Some of the exhibitors at IAAPA Asian Expo 2006 will include: 3-D Branded Attractions, Bob`s Space Racers, Bolliger & Mabillard Consulting Engineers Inc., Gateway Ticketing Systems, Guang Yang Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd., HUSS Maschinenfabrik GmbH, Intamin/Ride Trade, Moser Rides S.R.L., Oase Asia Pacific Pte Ltd., Premier Rides, Inc., Universal Space Amusement (UNIS), and Zhongshan Golden Dragon Amusement Co.

Participating in the IAAPA Asian Expo is particularly important for exhibitors to meet new, unknown customers, said Roger Houben, Managing Director of 3-D Branded Attractions. There is a strong focus on building valuable and long-lasting business relationships.

IAAPA Asian Expo 2006 will connect industry professionals with nearly 200 of the world’s top suppliers in rides, show productions, game, inflatables and more. In addition, the Expo will offer education and professional development opportunities designed for facility owners, CEOs and industry leaders.

Asia is recognized as one of the fastest growing markets in the amusement and attractions industry, said Charlie Bray, President and CEO of IAAPA. Being a part of that trend and encouraging the growth of successful business ventures in this dynamic market is what the IAAPA Asian Expo is all about.

The Asian Expo 2005 had an impressive roster of attendees. More than 60 percent of its attendees were in a senior management position, an owner, or the president of the company they represented. Business specialties that were represented included: Amusement and Theme Parks, Waterparks, Family Entertainment Centers, Concessionaires, Casinos, Shopping Centers, Aquariums, Hotels and Resorts, Zoos and Real Estate Developers.

IAAPA Asian Expo 2005 was very successful and has led to concluded sales, Houben added.

IAAPA Asian Expo 2006 will continue to bring the industry’s top decision makers to The Expo as it travels to Shanghai—a thriving metropolis offering rich cultural resources. Shanghai is China`s most comprehensive industrial and commercial city, ranking number one in population.

As one of the amusement industry’s prime markets, Asia is home to five of the 10 most visited amusement parks in the world and attracts more than 65 million visitors annually to its largest parks. According to Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP (PWC) Global Entertainment and Media Outlook report, the Asian amusement industry is expected to have an average yearly revenue growth rate of 5.7 percent generating $8.1 billion in revenues by 2009. IAAPA member facilities in Asia include: Adventure World in Japan, Ocean Park in Hong Kong, and Singapore Discovery Centre in Singapore.
