The Raffles Hotels & Resorts Cup 2005 will kick off at the Singapore Racecourse on 29 October 2005. Presented by Raffles Hotels & Resorts and copresented by the International Herald Tribune for the fourth year, the premier horseracing eventis a firm favourite on the Singapore social calendar. With an attractive prizemoney of S$350,000, the event this year promises more action and will provide an enthralling experience for spectators and guests.
As part of the Singapore Triple Crown series, the Raffles Hotels & Resorts Cup is the second leg in the series of three races, including the Kranji Mile on 9 October, and the Singapore Gold Cup which will take place on 13 November. The owner of the horse who wins all three legs of the series will receive a special cash bonus of S$300,000 from the Singapore Turf Club. The RafflesHotels & Resorts Cup Day boasts a lineup of ten exciting races as fleet-footed racehorses thunder down the tracks to the roar of the crowd. The races will be telecast live on Horse Racing Channel on Starhub Cable TV Channel 88. In addition to the exciting racing action on the track, invited guests will also enjoy the gastronomic experience Raffles is renowned for.
