Pegasus Airlines launches 5th weekly flight

Pegasus Airlines is delighted to announce the launch of a fifth-weekly flight (Friday) on its London (Stansted) – Istanbul (Sabiha Gokcen) / North Cyprus (Ercan) route, effective 1 October 2008. This follows from the addition of a fourth flight in September.

Friday flights will depart London Stansted daily at 13.15, arriving in Istanbul at 18.50. The return leg departs Istanbul 10.40, arriving at London Stansted at 12.25 (local times apply).

“By investing in London and increasing the frequency this route, we are able to offer our valued customers greater choice and flexibility than ever before,” said Ali Sabanci, the airline’s Chairman, “appealing to holiday makers and business travellers alike, especially with the wide availability of quick and easy connecting flights from our Istanbul hub to 16 destinations around Turkey and North Cyprus”.

Indeed, with 16 connecting routes across Turkey and North Cyprus, Pegasus brings all your favourite holiday destinations within easy reach – and, being outside the Euro-zone, Turkey offers fantastic value and variety – from Bodrum and Izmir on the Aegean and the wonders of Cappadocia near Kayseri, to Dalaman and Antalya on the Turkish Riviera – and North Cyprus in just over an hour.

Prices start from £40 one-way including taxes and charges. Established in 1990, Pegasus Airlines prides itself on providing low-cost yet comfortable flights, with a strong emphasis on service. Ali Sabanci, Chairman of Pegasus Airlines has declared that “Europe is an important market for us, with annual growth projected at approximately 20 percent.”

Already flying strong in Turkey Pegasus Airlines is now the largest private scheduled airline in the country, flying a total of 4.1 million passengers in 2007 (including over 3 million scheduled passengers), translating to a 20-fold year-on-year increase. It is also the country’s fastest growing airline, taking delivery of its third aircraft in a total order of 24 new generation Boeing 737-800s on 29 August 2008.
