Pacific International Suites, Apartments & Resorts has launched Connections, a global frequent flyer programme linking frequent flyer and other loyalty benefits offered by 15 international airlines to all Pacific International properties.

The Connections programme is set to make Pacific International the preferred accommodation brand to a high number of both leisure and business travellers and will tap into a prospective client database of millions worldwide, said Fiona Godfrey, Group General Manager Sales & Marketing – Asia Pacific.

This programme includes airlines such as Lufthansa, American Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, KLM, All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Air France/KLM, Philippine Airlines, South African Airways, Swiss International Airlines, Varig, Czech Airlines, Air Malta, El Al Israel Airlines. As a result, Connections has extended the long-standing relationship between Qantas and Pacific International to an extensive network of global airline partners.

Frequent Flyer members of these airlines can now earn air miles when staying at any of the Pacific International properties in Asia Pacific. Benefits include double and triple miles promotions, upgrades and early check-ins.

Further to the complete re-branding of Pacific International, Suites, Apartments & Resorts, including the launch of the Accommodating Individuality initiative, the Connections programme is a natural progression for the group to become internationally recognised and be seen as a strong player within the Australian hotel management arena. We look forward to the results of this programme and working with our new-found airline partners said Godfrey.

Pacific International is one of the hospitality brands owned by the global accommodation management company Tourism, Hotels & Leisure (THL). THL formed a strategic partnership last January with The Netherlands based global hotel operator Golden Tulip. The combined THL and Golden Tulip group, with its commercial alliance partners, is now the 14th largest hotel network in the world (by the number of hotels). It has more than 535 hotels, in 370 destinations across 43 countries. Fifty-three of these are in the Asia-Pacific.

The Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns and Resorts have been partners with the different airline frequency programmes since 1975, when it launched a worldwide network of hotels for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
