For the third consecutive time, Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), managed by Accor, the world’s leading hospitality and tourism management group, has been awarded as ‘Best Convention Centre’ for the year 2008-2009 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Vice President of India Shri Mohammad Hamid Ansari presented the award in the presence of Kumari Selja, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism and Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India Minister of Tourism & Culture and Shri Sultan Ahmed, Minister of State for Tourism & Culture on March 3rd, 2010 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
Philip Logan, General Manager, HICC says, “This is a moment of great pride for HICC to win this prestigious award for the third time in a row. With the growing MICE tourism sector in India, HICC has established itself as the preferred ‘convention destination’ for the country and this award will further augment our efforts to market the city of Hyderabad and subsequently the country as a lucrative MICE option.”

Some of the prominent events hosted at HICC recently are The 62nd World Newspaper Congress and 16th World Editor’s Forum, PACIS 2009- Pacific Asia Conference on Information System, BIO ASIA 2010- The Global Bio Business Forum and CRITICARE 2010- International Critical Care Congress and 16th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine. HICC will also play host to the most prestigious convention event- 49th ICCA Congress scheduled in Hyderabad this year.
