The on-going 10th National Games attracted many tourists to come to Nanjing. Tourists increased by 40 per cent in the past two weeks compared with last year and travel agencies keep launching new routes.
Since the beginning of October, Nanjing`s Dahua Jiari International Travel Agency received 6,000 tourists and most came from the north and northeast regions, a growth of 40 per cent than last year. Some travelers extended their tours by spending one more day in the city and help boosted local catering industry and shopping business.
Travel agencies included more scenic spots into their one-day tours and the Olympic Stadium has become a most heated site for the National Game tour.
Apart from travelers who came from other parts of China, many local residents also joined the tourist boom. After the national day holiday, tour prices were cut down substantially. This, coinciding with the holidays during the National Games, urged many local citizens to sign up for traveling.Meanwhile, a lot of aged people started to go out at this time, too.
