Motley Crue meets travellers at Changi Airport

Passengers at Changi Airport Terminal 2’s Departure/Transit Mall came up close with the heavy metal band from Los Angeles, Motley Crue, at a meet-and-greet session organised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) this evening. The band is in Singapore for their debut concert at Fort Canning Park.

Two lucky passengers also had the opportunity to take photographs with lead singer Vince Neil and walked away with autographed cards. Drummer Tommy Lee, who will only be in Singapore tomorrow, will meet passengers at another session organised by the CAAS then, while bass guitarist Nikki Sixx and guitarist Mick Mars will make their appearances during the band’s concert.

The band, reunited in 2005, has recently released their ninth studio album in their career – Saints of Los Angeles. It is the band’s first studio album in eight years, and the first to feature the band’s classic line-up since Generation Swine which was released a decade ago.

This rare opportunity to catch Motley Crue in-person was made possible by the CAAS and Changi Airport’s meet-and-greet sessions with famous personalities. Previous celebrity sessions featured Air Supply, Backstreet Boys, Bollywood superstars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt, and top golfer Annika Sorenstam. Changi Airport is the first airport in the world to organise
such meet-and-greet sessions for travellers in transit.
