Low cost carrier Mandala Airlines will launch from December flights to Padang in West Sumatra as well as to Bali out of Singapore.
SINGAPORE – Indonesian low cost carrier Mandala Airlines will launch flights from Singapore to Denpasar (Bali), and Singapore to Padang from 1 December 2012. The Indonesian island of Bali is renowned for its pristine beaches, fantastic surf and art enclaves. Just as popular are its mesmerising landscape dotted with terraced rice fields and enchanting Hindu temples, and the charming Balinese.
Alternatively passengers will be able to fly now non-stop to West Sumatra for a taste of Padang cuisine– famed around the world- and to enjoy the peculiar Minangkabau culture in Bukittingi, the cradle of this famed Sumatra ethnic. Padang used to be flown a couple of years by Tiger Airways- one of Mandala Airlines main shareholder- out of Singapore. It was a wish from both the Provincial government and the city administration to see a link to Singapore being reinstated.
To celebrate the launch of these new destinations, Mandala Air is offering special promotional fares starting from all the three destinations. The special fares are available only until 26 September 2012 for travel from 1 Dec 2012 to 31 Mar 2013
