Langham Hotels announces landmark 25th property

Langham Hotels International has unveiled the luxurious Langham, Dalian which will become the 25th property in the rapidly expanding luxury hotel operator’s portfolio. Set to open in 2015, the stunning landmark hotel will form the lavish centrepiece of a 72 storey megatower in the exclusive heart of the city overlooking the Yellow Sea in North East China. Owned by parent company Great Eagle Holdings with joint venture partner, The Blackstone Group, The Langham, Dalian will be part of a luxury multi-use complex that includes serviced apartments.

Luxurious Traditions
The 361-room Langham, Dalian located in the prestigious Donggang district will bring the traditional trappings of Europe’s original grand hotel to North East China.

Guests commence their journey into enchanting hospitality from the moment they enter the grand lobby atrium as they are checked-in at well-appointed individual reception and concierge areas.

They will be escorted to their exceptionally well-designed guestrooms from 44 sq ms and suites up to 300 sq ms, where The Langham will have created a new level of luxury with classically-designed furniture, modern entertainment systems and exclusive luxury-branded room amenities with English-style butlers assisting guests with their every service need.

Indulgent Traditions
The glamour of European hospitality will become apparent with an impressive array of dining experiences. In particular, Palm Court, the original home of the quintessential afternoon tea, and the international all-day dining restaurant on the ground lobby level will create two stylish focal points to meet.

With stunning 270 degree city and harbour views from the 39th floor, the T’ang Court, will offer the Michelin-quality cuisine of its award-winning sibling from Hong Kong as well as local specialities. With its intimate yet spacious a la carte dining area and 10 private rooms, the restaurant promises to be the choice for business celebrations or private luncheons.

Meanwhile, the celebrated Langham Club lounge will feature a double-heighted ceiling that’s reminiscent of a Victorian library room. The Lounge can also be privately accessed from the executive clubroom floors offering complete privacy for the guest.

Meeting Traditions
The Langham, Dalian is poised to become home to the city’s most elegant events with its impressive Grand Ballroom at 1,000 sq m. Meeting and event planners will find each social event or business conference catered to with the Langham’s customary grace and elegance so even the simplest of events will become an occasion.

Leisurely Traditions
For the luxury leisure or business traveller, the facility includes a Chuan Spa based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been developed into an internationally-recognised global brand, two pools and a state-of-the-art gym.

Brett Butcher, Chief Executive Officer of Langham Hotels International said: “The introduction and investment in bringing the prestigious Langham brand to Dalian, one of China’s most international cities, signals our intent to penetrate China’s most important cities as we build our footprint in the fastest growing hospitality markets in the world.”

Dalian is often considered the ‘Hong Kong of Northern China’. It also has a reputation as ‘a city built in gardens’ due to its ‘Green Storm’ campaign in the 1990s and its extensive preservation of its European architecture.
