ISPA 2006 Thailand to unveil the best in spa industry

ISPA 2006 Thailand International Spa and Wellness Conference and Exhibition will showcase the best of spa products, technologies, knowledge and expertise when it opens on May 3-5, 2006 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. This year’s ISPA 2006 Thailand is hosted by the Ministry of Industry’s Institute for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ISMED) and the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

This annual ISPA meeting in Asia Pacific will showcase unique exhibits highlighting business ideas such as operations of different health and fitness centers, spas and wellness salons, beauty and aesthetic clinics as well as medical and surgical centers. There will also be a showcase of products ranging from spa cuisine, health vitamins & supplements, spa products, herb products, beauty & care products, spa equipment & furniture, pools & baths, accessories, gears, apparel and consumables. Service providers like physicians, wellness instructors, nutritionists, and massage therapists will also gather to provide consultancy, advice and trade business exchange together with consultants of spa software technologies; spa operators, spa management and design experts, and representatives of tourism related organizations, professional & trade associations, spa publications, books, journals & magazines.

Leading the exhibition of new spa products are Hot Chocolates by KLAPP, Aroma-Soma Colour, which contains chosen essential oils and plant extracts, Dermedex developed for treating, soothing and rectifying and improving different skin conditions without side effects. Modern technologies will be featured in the ISPA 2006 Thailand event including SpaSoft which tracks demographics of each client that visits the spa, integrating advanced technological ability by means of sound operational knowledge. Another exhibitor, Wilton Spas, will display their equipments used in their operations such as powerful pumps, hydrotherapy jets, air-bubble massage jets, chromotherapy underwater lights, heater and filter systems.

ISPA 2006 Thailand is a gathering of recognized and leading spa experts and practitioners from around the world headed by Kate Mearns, Chairman of the International Spa Association (ISPA), along with Ho Kwon Ping, Executive Chairman of the Banyan Tree Group who is engaged in the development, ownership and operation of hotels, spas, residential homes, retail galleries and other lifestyles in the Asia Pacific.

With the advent of modern technology, Stu Garrow, co-founder of Intelligent Spas, will provide technogical know-how that can be strategically applied to improve the booming spa business and continue its growth. Dr. Martha Tilaar, founder of Martha Tilaar Group representing cosmetics, herbal medicines and Indonesian concept of beauty and wellness will share her expertise in traditional herbal medicine and its importance in the beauty and cosmetics industry. Trent Munday, of the well-known Mandara Spa, will tackle topics about standard system and quality control. Sharilyn Abbajay, member of the Board of the International Spa Association, is expected to talk on financial management techniques that will improve the spa experience and profitability of the business. ISPA 2006 Thailand conference also merges the humanities and creative aspect of spa industry with Bob Henry presenting on Spa Design. Deborah J. Waldvogel on the other hand will focus on day to day operations of spa business using the ISPA model.

Other speakers who will join the conference are Ronald Jean, Canadian Managing Director of Pevonia International and spa consultant to present design, operations, program development, business analysis and feasibility. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors for the Leading Spas of Canada, educator and speaker worldwide (North America, Europe, Asia) on such topics as applied hydrotherapy, scientific hydrotherapy, spa concept, spa business, skin absorbency and equipment in spas. Samantha Foster, Director of International Projects, Chiva-Som will also be part of the array of global experts on spa speaking during the conference.

Modern technologies and products will be showcased. Best speakers and experts will unveil ideas about the different techniques, philosophies, trends, economic matters in the spa industry and the secrets within beauty and perfection. It is expected to draw more attention to other exhibitors and audiences from around the world. The ISPA 2006 Thailand International Spa & Wellness Conference and Exhibition comes with the theme, ‘The Best of the East,” and will surely put Thailand in the pedestal to be recognized as Asia’s capital for spa and wellness.

ISPA 2006 Thailand is supported by the Ministry of Public health, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ministry of Commerce, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways International and the Federation of Thai Spa.
