This year`s Hospitality Design Asia Exhibition & Conference (HD Asia) that focuses solely on the hospitality industry, returns to Hong Kong from 8-9 October, promising this year to be bigger and better than ever, with an impressive line of up speakers who will share their thoughts on cutting-edge style, environmental issues and other relevant topics that continue to drive today`s hospitality design world.

Now in its third year at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, HD Asia is expected to attract over 3,000 designers, architects, owners, developers, manufacturers, facility managers and other hospitality professionals from Asia Pacific. The program line-up includes a comprehensive series of educational and panel sessions aimed at enlightening industry professionals on development strategies and design tactics for hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, casinos and clubs, senior living facilities and multi-use developments in Asia Pacific.

The launch of Hospitality Design Asia Pacific & Middle East magazine in January this year further strengthened HD Asia`s standing in the hospitality design community. The magazine is actively promoting the event and fostering the design community to drive visitors to the exhibition and seminar programme, as well as hosting exclusive networking events leading up to and during the show.

Topics under discussion on Day One will include the revolutionary Hotel of Tomorrow (H.O.T) concept, which Hospitality Design magazine developed in association with award-winning interior design and architecture firm, Gettys. H.O.T.: Greening the Hotel of Tomorrow, will take a glimpse at the future of sustainable design. Other subjects include Global Restaurant

Design on the Cutting Edge; Design Trends in Fast-Growing and Emerging Markets; and Adapting a Brand Globally: Hilton Garden Inn Case Study.

Sessions on Day Two include Lifestyle Design: Exploring Integration and Innovation and HD Asia Hotel Owners` Economic Round Table featuring a Who`s Who of the hospitality business who will discuss economics, global markets, the construction pipeline and, importantly, achievable return on design investment. Afternoon sessions feature Ecotourism: New Ideas in Sustainability, and What`s new in Light? Understanding the Hi-Tech, High Touch World of Lighting Hospitality. The final presentation to round off an exhilarating and thought provoking line- up is So You Want to Create a World Class Spa?

Panellists and session speakers include: Ron Swidler, Gettys; Norihiko Shinya, Super Potato, Japan; Scott Boyd, Duncan and Miller Design, Shanghai; Scott Whittaker, dwp, Bangkok; Hitesh Mehta, EDSA, USA; John Koga and Suzanne Couture of Friedmutter Group; Douglas Young, G.O.D., Hong Kong ; Charles Israel, founder and CEO, Lighting Design Alliance; Ian Brewis, Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts` Director of Group Spa Development & Operations, Hong Kong; and Jeffrey Wilkes, LTW, Kuala Lumpur.

In addition to the Conference, HD Asia includes an Exhibition showcasing the latest ideas, materials and products from the world`s most innovative and creative industry manufacturers and suppliers. Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to explore products, trends and services related to hospitality design.

Networking opportunities include HD Asia`s signature event, Party by the Harbour, on Monday 8 October – a ticketed evening event open to visitor/attendees and exhibitors and Tuesday 9 October, HICAP (Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific) and Hospitality Design Asia Pacific & Middle East magazine co-present an invitation only HICAP/HDAsia VIP Party where HDAsia invitees and HICAP delegates get the opportunity to connect.
