Hong Kong announces June visitor arrivals figures

Hong Kong saw a cumulative visitor arrivals of around 34,000 in the first half of the year.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that the provisional visitor arrivals of June were 6,200, a 57.6% drop year on year, with a daily average of around 207 visitors. Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Hong Kong saw a cumulative visitor arrivals of around 34,000 in the first half of the year, a 99.0% drop year on year.

Besides, in view of the overwhelming response received by the “Spend-to-Redeem Free Tour” programme, the HKTB plans to extend the programme to reward and encourage the public to receive the vaccines by offering about 190 free tours from the second round of the programme to those who have received the jabs, with a view to help Hong Kong achieve herd immunity soon and resume travel. Further details will be announced in early August.
