Hong Kong Airlines wins at New Media Impact Awards 2016

Hong Kong Airlines was awarded "The Most Influential Company in New Media" at the award presentation ceremony of New Media Impact Awards 2016 hosted by www.gsdata.cn and NewMedia.

HONG KONG – In the past year, Hong Kong Airlines received high recognition for its innovative new media marketing strategies and campaigns in cooperation with major domestic and international new media platforms. On 20 January, Hong Kong Airlines was awarded “The Most Influential Company in New Media” at the award presentation ceremony of New Media Impact Awards 2016 hosted by www.gsdata.cn and NewMedia. Ms Yao Qi, Deputy General Manager, Brand Center of Hong Kong Airlines received the award on behalf of the Company.
 
Ms Yao Qi said during the award ceremony, “As a Skytrax 4-star airline, Hong Kong Airlines has won acclaims from the industry for breakthrough and innovations in brand marketing. With the rapid development of new media, we seek innovative and diversified experimental new media marketing strategies to establish solid brand image for our high-quality services. The winning of the award recognizes Hong Kong Airlines’ remarkable achievements in brand marketing, and further encourages us to explore new cooperation with new media. We are very honoured to be here to exchange experiences and learn from new media experts.
 
Building integrated new media marketing ecosystem in the aviation field
In 2015, Hong Kong Airlines launched a new service campaign “Sweeten You Up”, leading a new integrated marketing approach in the aviation industry. Especially during the Christmas season, Hong Kong Airlines partnered with Miao Pai, the largest Chinese video blogging platform, to launch an innovative video campaign, making it viral via online interactive channels. The campaign featured videos taken in 30 domestic and international destinations of Hong Kong Airlines in which celebrities also participated. The online event received overwhelming response by earning more than 300,000 “Likes” with millions of views recorded in just 7 days after the launch. This campaign successfully linked Hong Kong Airlines’ official digital channels in WeChat, Weibo with the new media across the internet, and stimulated the interaction between customers and the brand. This successful campaign excels at the awards as “The Most Influential Company in New Media” this year.
 
With enhanced brand strategies, Hong Kong Airlines will launch more integrated new media marketing campaigns. In the new media era, the company will continue to cooperate with new media experts to build the integrated new media marketing ecosystem in the aviation field.
 
Further expansion in the global market
Hong Kong Airlines is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016. Going forward, the airline will further strengthen its development strategies. More routes in Asia, such as Yonago, Japan and Phnom Penh, Cambodia are in the pipeline. And at the same time, the airline has been proactively exploring long-haul international routes, expanding its network from the very first Gold Coast, Australia to a wider range in the Asia Pacific region and beyond. Leveraging the profound customer base in the Pearl River Delta region and the strong connectivity in Asia via the international aviation hub Hong Kong, Hong Kong Airlines continues to enhance its global network by launching more hot-picked destinations, for example, Krabi, Sapporo and Kumamoto.
