Hansar Samui adopts Maemam School in Chiang Mai as part of CSR programme

Hansar Samui will continue to support Maemam School financially, sending money each month which will be used to buy supplies and to provide meals for the children.

Earlier this year a team of management and staff from Hansar Samui visited Chiang Mai to extend their charitable CSR activities to the north of Thailand.

During this visit they donated school bags, school supplies and money to provide a scholarship for the best student at 6 schools, including the Maeman School. The team was particularly touched by the story of students from this school where children come from very poor families and have to walk 3 km to the school.  Sometimes they need to stay overnight at the school due to bad weather.

The Mae Man School is located in a mountainous area 95 kms from Chiang Mai and   has been operating since 1978.  There are 5 teachers and 53 students ranging from kindergarten age to Mathayom 6 (Grade 12).  The students are both Thai and Karen and speak Karen language.

Hansar Samui has since adopted the school and will continue to support them financially, sending money each month which will be used to buy supplies and to provide meals for the children.
