First Conrad in Mainland China opens in Sanya Haitang Bay

Conrad Hotels & Resorts announces the opening of its first luxury Conrad property in Mainland China, located in picturesque Haitang Bay in Sanya, Hainan Island. The magnificent Conrad Sanya Haitang Bay is the first hotel to open in Haitang Bay, the newest resort area to be developed on the southern tip of Hainan Island, known as China’s “tropical paradise.” Conrad Sanya Haitang Bay is owned by China’s Wanda Group, a leading real estate developer in China.

Distinguished by its architecture inspired by the French Riviera style, the 101 luxurious villas and rooms at Conrad Sanya Haitang Bay overlook the blue ocean, lagoons or gardens. Each villa has a private pool, sun lounger and cabana and is surrounded by lush foliage for privacy. Guests also enjoy additional access to two large outdoor common pools.

The property has four restaurants and bars – the all-day dining restaurant Teatro offers the best in international cuisine as well as Asian and Western dishes from an open kitchen; La Chine serves contemporary Hainan and Cantonese cuisine in a luxurious setting while Senses, the specialty restaurant features seafood fresh from the warm local tropical waters. The relaxing Vue Lounge offers an alfresco setting with panoramic ocean views and is the ideal place to enjoy an afternoon tea or exotic evening cocktails.
