HONG KONG – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, 2014 The Spas at Mandarin Oriental will offer a new Inner Strength spa treatment, featuring the Inner Strength oil, personally created by Aromatherapy Associates’ founder Geraldine Howard to help her cope during her own battle with cancer. The ingredients build strength, inspire courage and induce a positive state of mind. A percentage of each treatment purchased will go towards cancer research.
The Group’s award-winning spas are tranquil spaces for relaxation and renewal, allowing escape and recovery from the strains of everyday life. This new full-body treatment incorporates a variety of massage techniques designed to ease physical tensions and emotional anxiety. The application of a heated compress warms and nurtures the core, quiets the mind and brings focus inward for a more meditative and relaxed state. Aromatherapy Associates’ Inner Strength oil is used throughout the treatment to bolster feelings of resilience and fortitude in the face of life’s many stresses.
With a powerful blend of ingredients that includes calming clary sage and frankincense for focus and clarity, fortifying cardamom and rosemary, and healing rose, vetivert, and geranium; the oil helps to balance the emotions and encourage inspiration. The treatment concludes with attention to the reflex points in the feet to make guests feel more grounded and to awaken the senses.

The Inner Strength treatment will be launched in October 2014, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month at the Group’s spas in Atlanta, Barcelona, Boston, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Paris, Prague and San Francisco. Guests can choose from either a 1 hour 20 minute or a 1 hour 50 minute treatment.
Until the end of the year, 10% of the cost of each Inner Strength treatment purchased will be donated to a variety of Cancer Research Institutes around the world that have been chosen by each individual hotel. Aromatherapy Associates’ Inner Strength oil is also available for purchase in each of the Group’s Spa Boutiques.
