EVA Air to start passenger services to Guam this summer

EVA Air will introduce direct passenger flights between Taipei, Taiwan and the United States territory of Guam on June 18, 2011. Starting with two flights a week, the airline will serve its new Mariana Islands route using Airbus 330-200s. Travelers can book, buy and reserve seats now through travel agents and brokers and on EVA’s website.

EVA flight BR20 will depart Taoyuan International airport at 22:45 (10:45 pm) on Tuesday and Saturday and arrive at Guam’s A.B. Won Pat International Airport at 04:40 (04:40 am) the next morning.  Return flight BR19 will leave Guam on Wednesday and Sunday at 06:10 (6:10 am) and land in Taoyuan at 08:15 (8:15 am) the same morning. Flight time from Taipei to Guam is 4 hours and 55 minutes and the return from Guam to Taipei is 3 hours and 5 minutes.

Over the past few years, Guam has become an increasingly inviting destination for Taiwanese travelers and is an especially attractive location for weddings. Adding greater ease and convenience for these travelers, Taiwan passport holders can enter Guam and stay as long as 45 days without a visa.

EVA is working with travel agents to create tour packages for both independent travelers and groups. Designed for everything from dive trips to wedding parties, a variety of products are planned so that visitors can enjoy the island’s beauty to the fullest.

Guam is east of Manila and south of Japan in the western Pacific. The island has an average yearly temperature of 27°C (85°F) and a bounty of natural resources such as white sand beaches, clear blue oceans and dense forests. For couples seeking a romantic setting for marriage, the island is sprinkled with more than a dozen wedding chapels. It also boasts golf courses with stunning views and an abundance of activities and attractions from jet skiing and windsurfing to lush landscapes and an unexpected wildlife population. Guam offers a rich variety of resources to visitors on personal trips, family travel or annual corporate meetings.

EVA serves an international network of business and leisure destinations throughout Asia, Europe, Oceania and North America. From Los Angeles, Newark/New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and Toronto, EVA offers more trans-Pacific flights, making easy one-stop connections in Taipei, Taiwan, to more gateways in China and throughout Asia than any other airline.  And EVA’s routing within Asia is among the industry’s best.

One easy stop in Taipei gives passengers convenient onward connection to most major business and leisure destinations in the region. The Taiwan-based airline serves North American and European long- and medium-haul passengers with Boeing 777-300ERs and 747-400s, and Airbus 330-200s.
