Eurofly, Italy’s carrier in the leisure market started its operations direct from New Delhi to Rome Fuimicino. The flights would operate 3 times a week and would be effective from January 15, 2007, though the booking starts with immediate effect.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Armando Brunini, Executive Vice President, Eurofly, said, “India is a strategic market for Eurofly and our expansion to India marks a major milestone in the development of Eurofly. India is identified as one of the world’s fastest growing aviation markets, which offers huge potential for us to offer value for money travel to larger section of Indian travellers.”

He further added, “Our airline brings to the table easy aggressive pricing, great on – board service with Indian flavour supported by Indian catering recipes and entertainment.”

Mr. Mario Mendio, Marketing & Business Development Director further commented, “India’s travel and tourism industry is the third fastest growing globally after China and Montenegro and is currently worth USD 38.8 billion. There is a huge and a burgeoning middle class in India rearing to travel, so one can see that there is a tremendous potential for travel growth. We at Eurofly are extremely positive of this growth and feel that adding supply will not only give more choice to the travelers but will further enhance the growth of this industry.”
