Etihad Airways – the national airline of the United Arab Emirates – has launched its maiden flight to the Indonesian capital Jakarta from Abu Dhabi. Khalid Al Mehairbi, VP Corporate Affairs for Etihad Airways made a special presentation of an Etihad Airways crystal ornament to Indonesia`s Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Faisal Bafadal to mark the special occasion.
“Etihad is delighted to be launching this new service to Jakarta, it is welcome news to both our business and holiday Guests, as well as our cargo customers. We anticipate strong demand for this new route and look forward to building greater ties with our friends in Indonesia,” said Ian Ferguson-Brown, Head of Brand Management and Communications, Etihad Airways.
“I am delighted that Etihad Airways is commencing these new services between Abu Dhabi and Jakarta. This new route will bring our two countries closer together and enable closer cultural and business opportunities,” said H.E. Faisal Bafadal.
Also attending the ceremony on behalf of Etihad Airways was Raymond Korban, regional general manager, UAE and Oman and Charles Phelps-Penry, regional general manager, Asia Pacific.
Similarly, the Etihad Holidays division has indicated that the new Etihad service to Indonesia will present enormous opportunities for guests flying between Abu Dhabi and Asia.
“Etihad’s new service to Jakarta represents a truly global expansion on the part of the airline, and further supports our mission to link Abu Dhabi with the world’s most important commercial and cultural centres,” concluded Ian Ferguson-Brown.
