Dusit Thani Hua Hin promotes luxury MICE travel

Selected twice by the Thai government as a headquarter hotel for 14th ASEAN Summit in 2009 and again in 2010, Dusit Thani Hua Hin has once again been thrust into the limelight after the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau’s (TCEB) recent announcement that Hua Hin has been chosen as one of five luxury MICE destinations for its latest marketing initiative.

Hua Hin was chosen along with Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Samui because of its unspoiled natural landscapes and charming heritage. It is a city that boasts more than 11,000 hotel rooms and sufficient meeting and conference facilities for up to 5000.

“We are delighted that Hua Hin has been recognised as a luxury MICE destination by TCEB as it certainly has all the ingredients necessary for business events” said Victor Sukseree, general manager of Dusit Thani Hua Hin “This validation will not only promote Thailand as a great business and travel destination but will help showcase ASEAN as one of the world’s most preferred MICE destination”.

According to TCEB the country expects to welcome 720,000 MICE visitors to Thailand this year, generating 1.9 billion USD in revenues. The TCEB’s ‘Luxury MICE campaign’ is designed to capitalise on a growing market for high-end corporate travel which Thailand can offer at competitive rates.

Dusit Thani Hua Hin is one of the largest properties in Hua Hin with almost 300 rooms to accommodate larger group sizes. Its Royal Dusit Hall stands on 3,000 sqm of space in total making it the biggest grand ballroom in the aristocratic beach resort of Hua Hin, and the only convention centre with a panoramic view of the Gulf of Siam.

Years of experience with royal functions, top level government and corporate meetings as well as award-winning incentives, has earned the hotel a reputation as an ideal venue for events and meetings.
