Dream Cruises launches new “One Day Greater Bay Cruise” connecting Guangzhou and Hong Kong

Innovative service to boost the development of the cruise economy in the Greater Bay Area.

Guangzhou, China – Dream Cruises, Asia’s Global Cruise Line, announced the launch of an innovative “One Day Greater Bay Cruise” on World Dream that will link Guangzhou and Hong Kong and also help boost the cruise economy in the Greater Bay Area. Guests will be able to experience World Dream, Asia’s homegrown luxury cruise ship, and the scenic splendor of the Greater Bay Area at a very affordable price of RMB 499 per person. Guests can choose to depart every Friday from Guangzhou (Nansha) to Hong Kong or every Sunday from Hong Kong to Guangzhou (Nansha). During the product promotion period from March to June 2019, every passenger will also receive a voucher worth HKD100 for consumption on board.

“Our new itinerary is perfect for first time guests who would like to experience a cruise without the usual time and financial commitment of a regular length voyage,” said Mr. Kent Zhu, President of Genting Cruise Lines. “However, even with the shorter duration, our guests can still indulge in the many amenities on board World Dream including world-class dining, comprehensive leisure and entertainment facilities, duty free shopping and even a unique and breathtaking vantage point to view the spectacular Hong Kong/Zhuhai/Macau Bridge.”

Dream Cruises began to deploy its ships to Guangzhou (Nansha), Shenzhen (Shekou) and Hong Kong in 2016 to operate cruises originating from the Greater Bay Area. Since then, Dream Cruises has developed 18 itineraries reaching 14 destinations and has welcomed more than 1.8 million passengers by the end of 2018. Dream Cruises, which pioneered the concept of multiple homeports, continues to promote the development of the cruise industry in the Greater Bay Area.

Beginning with her launch in 2017, World Dream has become a popular fixture in the Greater Bay Area and has received numerous awards and recognitions including being ranked in “The Top 10 Large Resort Ships” in the 2019 Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Guide, the most authoritative guide for the cruise industry.

Currently enjoying dual homeport in Guangzhou (Nansha) and Hong Kong, the 150,000-gross-ton World Dream embarks on exciting adventures to the most popular ports of call in Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines and other destinations. To further its commitment to the recently issued Outline of the Planning and Development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, which encourages the development of cruise industry in the Greater Bay Area, “One Day Greater Bay Cruise” will allow even more people to enjoy the hassle-free convenience of a cruise.

“Guangzhou and Hong Kong are core cities of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Greater Bay Area and Dream Cruises is invested in further promoting this region as an important cruise destination,” added Mr. Zhu. “We are excited to be adding to the Dream Cruises family with the addition of our new 200,000-tonnage Global Class ship which is currently being constructed at our MV Werften shipyards in Germany and expected to be delivered by early 2021 to further drive interest in the Greater Bay Area.”
