Curfew lifted in seven more tourist areas

This latest development brings the total of Thailand’s major tourist destinations to enjoy curfew exemption to ten (10), following the lifting of curfew in Phuket, Pattaya and Ko Samui on 3 June 2014.

BANGKOK – The nighttime curfew has been lifted in seven (7) more major tourist destinations including Hua Hin, Cha-am, Krabi, Phang-nga, Hat Yai, Ko Chang and Ko Phangan with immediate effect, further demonstrating the commitment by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to promote Thailand’s tourism.

The announcement came shortly after the NCPO in late afternoon granted a curfew exemption for this month’s all-night full moon parties on Ko Phangan to be held as scheduled from 9-13 June 2014.

Other destinations remain under curfew from midnight to 4 a.m., but these hours have hardly stopped tourists and local residents to carry on with their daily schedules and enjoy the many fine-dining, nightlife and day-long excursions for which Thailand is famous.
