CITM brochures and website launched

The brochures and website of the Commonwealth International Travel Mart (CITM) launched in New Delhi by Hon’ble Tourism Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Mr Nawang Rigzin Jora in the presence of Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director (Tourism) Kashmir, Amirul Ariffin Md. Nasir, Director-North-East India, Tourism Malaysia, Rajeev Nangia, Associate Director, Trac Representations, Subhash Goyal, Chairman, Stic Travels, Vijay Thakur, President, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Rakesh Lamba, President, Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), O P Mendiratta, Advisor, members of other Travel Trade Associations and officials from Embassies of Commonwealth Countries based in Delhi, Directors, Dy Directors, Tourist Information Officers of various tourism departments and large number of guest from Hotel, Travel, Tourism Industry and Media.

Commonwealth International Travel Mart is to be held at Hotel The Ashok International Convention Centre, New Delhi (INDIA) from August 26th to 28th 2010. CITM will showcase the best of “Commonwealth Brands” under one crown to highlight the travel & tourism potential of Commonwealth Countries and Indian States. CITM will come out  as a  golden Platform in Terms of Cross Cultural exchange, a new chapter in Tourism cooperation, as Commonwealth countries will come together to promote tourism sector for the mutual benefit of all members.

Commonwealth countries can benefit from CITM and shall contribute to globalization through the promotion and development of tourism. The shared history, values and language among the people, provides a good framework for boosting travel among varied countries. Tourism is one sector that brings in foreign exchange earnings, creates employment and income. Indeed for many small countries, tourism is key to their economic growth.

CITM will attract exhibitors and buyers together at one place and will explore ways to promote tourism aimed at increasing tourist arrivals from both within and outside the Commonwealth countries and also enhancing investment in member countries.

India holds enormous potential as a market for promoting tourism worldwide. It has socialized system of inbound, outbound and domestic tourism. Host Country India is organizing Commonwealth Games 2010 in the national capital, New Delhi from 3rd to 14th October 2010.  Before Commonwealth games, the Commonwealth International Travel Mart 2010 (CITM) is also being organized in India to offers enormous benefits and unlimited opportunities with this huge platform to cater tourist from all over the world.
