Aviary Hotel prepares to take flight in Jakarta’s green oasis of Bintaro

Inspired by the surrounds and green vibe, the contemporary-styled, artistically motivated, artisanal hotel is breaking new ground in Jakarta as it prepares to take flight and take guests on a journey that is about the destination as much as it is about the hotel itself.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA – Jakarta’s only eco-inspired hotel brand is set to ruffle a few hospitality industry feathers as it prepares to open its first hotel in Indonesia on May 16 – selecting the city’s green lung of Bintaro for the pioneering hotel and serviced apartment project.

Destination is king for Aviary as Bintaro is like on other district in Jakarta. It’s the antithesis of the traffic clogged CBD of the capital, a place where people cycle to work along tree-lined streets, walk their dogs or grab a quick espresso at an art-house coffee shop – all just 15 minutes from Jakarta International Airport.

Inspired by the surrounds and green vibe, the contemporary-styled, artistically motivated, artisanal hotel is breaking new ground in Jakarta as it prepares to take flight and take guests on a journey that is about the destination as much as it is about the hotel itself.

“We love birds,” says Aviary Bintaro CEO Aswin Sumampau with a smile. “They are our inspiration in many ways – reflecting the freedom of life and all its possibilities – freedom of thought and freedom to believe in your dreams. This is the driving philosophy behind the Aviary brand.”

“We also believe in nature and the environment – and this is reflected in the way we have built the hotel – looking to harness wind flows, utilizing recycled materials and farmed timber in the interiors – and the way we have used space with the large uncluttered rooms and communal areas for guest interaction,” he adds.

The social hub of the hotel is the Starling Eatery, serving healthy dishes, fresh juices and freshly ground organic Java coffee by day and a cool vibe with craft brews and a DJ in the evenings. Aviary is also offering bicycles to guests so they can discover the destination during the day with special “Flit & Fly” maps provided for guests.

Floor-to-ceiling, glass-sided meeting rooms from the Pool and 8th floor offer sweeping views of local businesses and a single 216sqm meeting room surrounded by lush gardens is already receiving pre-bookings from wedding planners and creative event organisers.
