Australia’s favourite holiday parks announced and revenue record for top-selling travel magazine

Signature Media publishes Holidays with Kids – Australia’s biggest-circulating travel magazine distributed to both consumers and travel agents with a circulation of 50,000 copies.

SYDNEY – Australia’s most popular holiday parks for 2013 have been announced by Holidays with Kids magazine, which has also recorded its highest advertising revenue in more than five years, with 16 pages added to the just-released summer edition to accommodate the increased demand for space from travel suppliers.

The annual poll by Holidays with Kids magazine – Australia’s top selling family travel magazine, with more than 600,000 readers – reveals the 10 best holiday parks in each State as voted by readers. The results are detailed in the latest 2013/2014 summer edition of Holidays with Kids. The number one holiday park in each State was:

NSW – NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park on the Central Coast
VIC – Big 4 Ballarat Welcome Stranger Holiday Park
QLD – NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Park on the Gold Coast
SA – Big 4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park
WA – Mandalay Holiday Park in Busselton
NT – Big 4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park near Alice Springs
TAS – Port Arthur Holiday Park
Best Eco Park – Murramarang Beachfront Nature Resort near Bateman’s Bay on the NSW South Coast

Signature Media Director, Cathy Wagstaff, who publishes the quarterly Holidays with Kids magazine, said the bumper summer edition pointed to renewed confidence and economic health in the travel industry and underlined the sector’s faith in the 17-year-old magazine’s ability to reach more than 600,000 consumers in target markets.

“Our advertising revenue for our latest 2013/14 summer edition was the highest for an edition since spring, 2008, and the fact we had to add 16 pages highlights the industry is now more buoyant and that our status and success since 1996 as one of Australia’s top travel publications has been reaffirmed,” Ms Wagstaff said.

“We thank our advertising clients for their support and ongoing faith in our successful, popular and time-trusted publication and all the signs are on the page that our next edition in autumn, 2014, will also be a record earner for us,” she said. “The strength of travel magazines like ours provides an ideal litmus test as to the wellbeing of this industry and judging by our new, huge, 196-page summer edition, the Australian travel industry can look forward to a prosperous 2014.”

Signature Media publishes Holidays with Kids – Australia’s biggest-circulating travel magazine distributed to both consumers and travel agents with a circulation of 50,000 copies. A readership of 600,000 includes in-lounge and in-flight with Qantas International. The Holidays with Kids website – holidayswithkids.com.au – receives over 1.8 million page views and 90,000 unique page views per month and has more than 53,000 online members. Signature Media also publishes the quarterly Signature Travel and Lifestyle magazine, thrice-yearly Five Star Kids magazine, LATTE  – the only luxury travel trade e-news in Australia –  and will be relaunching Signature Spa Beauty and Wellness in 2014 as a bi-annual with a  new sales and editorial team.
