Angsana Velavaru, Maldives is pleased to announce the appointment of Mario Piazza as the General Manager of the hotel, with effect from 4 March 2018.
Mario first joined the Banyan Tree Group as an Area Recreational Manager in year 2001, working for Banyan Tree Bintan and Angsana Resort and Spa, Bintan, Indonesia. He left to join Vinpearl Resort and Spa Group and later came back to re-join our Group in February 2005 as Director of Recreation in our flagship property, Banyan Tree Phuket, spearheading the recreational operations of three properties. He was transferred and appointed in July 2012 as Group Recreation Director and Operations – Laguna Lang Co, Vietnam. After spending a year in Vietnam, Mario was transferred to corporate office, Shanghai China in August 2013 to take up the role of Group Recreation Director of Operations before subsequently becoming Director of Hotel Operations Manager of Banyan Tree Lijiang and Banyan Tree Ringha – Yunnan Province, China in January 2015.
In September 2015, Mario was promoted to Hotel Manager of Banyan Tree Ringha, China where he was responsible for daily hotel operations, strategic planning and sales activities, reporting to the General Manager of Banyan Tree Lijiang and Ringha.
Now as the General Manager of Angsana Velavaru, Mario will be accountable for leading the team to ensure delivery of expected financial and operational results along with smooth hotel operations.
