Amadeus LinkHotel transforms reach of independent hotels

Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner for the global travel and tourism industry, has announced the launch of Amadeus LinkHotel, a new distribution and marketing service aimed at independent hotels and groups.

Amadeus LinkHotel provides reservation tools, marketing services, and commission handling to hotels, in addition to offering advanced global and internet distribution systems (GDS and IDS). These services are offered through an open standards platform, which allows for a scalable service and enables easy integration with other hotel systems, such as revenue and property management.

Amadeus LinkHotel also supports centralised rate and inventory management, and is one of the only services of its kind to offer automated commission handling to ensure intermediaries receive payment accurately and on time from member hotels.

Kartikeya Tripathi, Regional Director, Hotel Distribution, Asia Pacific, said, “Amadeus LinkHotel now provides independent hoteliers with a cost effective channel to distribute their inventory via the Amadeus GDS and reach approximately 104,000 Amadeus travel agency locations worldwide. This will be particularly valuable for them to leverage market opportunities as travellers today are looking for both cost effective and a wider selection of hotels.”

With the new distribution technology used by Amadeus LinkHotel fully online travel agent (OTA) compliant, hoteliers will be able to distribute content across fast growing Online Travel Agency channels. Amadeus LinkHotel also enables corporate serviced apartment operators to distribute their inventory via the GDS channel and provides corporate travellers access to these operators via their corporate booking solutions, regional and global corporate travel companies or online travel agents as well.

“Over the coming months we look forward to actively engaging independent hotel operators in Asia Pacific and providing Amadeus travel agency subscribers with enriched local and regional content,” Kartikeya added.

A key focus of the Amadeus LinkHotel offer is a range of consultancy services to hoteliers, including a complimentary analysis to ensure that they optimise their GDS and IDS reach, followed by a wide range of sales advice is offered to help the hotelier generate sales.

Amadeus LinkHotel also helps hoteliers keep up with the latest distribution trends, ranging from advice on corporate contracting to complying with Best Available Rate (BAR) programmes.

The launch of Amadeus LinkHotel follows the roll-out of the Amadeus Hotel Store in March 2009. Amadeus Hotel Store integrates up-front payment of commissions with hotel content in the reservation process and provides access to an inventory of more than 50,000 properties worldwide provided by Amadeus’ strategic partner, Transhotel. Together, these two solutions provide a holistic solution for travel agents, providing them with a wider variety of hotel content to offer their customers.
