Amadeus Asia bags 2011 Airline IT Solutions Provider of the Year award

Amadeus has received the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Award for Airline IT Solutions Provider of the Year. Now in its fourth year, the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Awards recognises innovative best practices in the Aerospace and Defence industry and honours companies and individuals who have raised the bar of excellence.

An expert panel of judges at Frost & Sullivan identified Amadeus as the recipient through a rigorous review process.

Amadeus was selected for its Altea Suite, which offers an integrated customer management solution that completely re-engineers airline passenger processes, enables a superior customer experience and offers outstanding operational efficiency for airlines, through automated check-ins and boarding, reduced queues and better management of disruptions and delays. Airlines using the Altea Suite can also reduce fuel costs through automated processes, and increase revenues by better capturing baggage fees and through additional freight capacity. Several major carriers have already benefited from these benefits, including Qantas, All Nippon Airways and Korean Airlines.

Additionally, Amadeus was also recognised as being the leading distribution provider globally.

“We are delighted today to be conferred one of the most coveted awards in the industry. This win would not have been possible without the dedication and support of a solid and hardworking team,” said David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific. “This award recognition underscores our commitment to our customers and acknowledges our continued investment in technologies that are changing the face of the travel industry.

“With Asia leading the growth of the travel industry, it has become more important than ever for travel players to embrace technology to help maximise their performance,” Brett concluded.
