Adelaide welcomes new luxury boutique Mayfair Hotel

Adelaide’s newest and most ambitious luxury boutique hotel has opened its doors. Located on King William Street with easy access to the city’s best bars and shops, the five-star Mayfair Hotel is set to become an iconic address for visitors, breathing new life into a landmark building.
 

A painstaking conversion costing upwards of AU$55 million has transformed the heritage-listed Colonial Mutual Life offices into a contemporary boutique hotel incorporating original Art Deco features. The Mayfair Hotel’s 170 elegant rooms and suites are complemented by striking spaces, including the rooftop terrace and lounge, light filled meeting and function rooms, original ribbon staircase, gym and Mayflower Restaurant and Bar, all blending harmoniously to create a seamless fusion of past and present.
 

In the restaurant, Executive Chef Bethany Finn and the team have revived classic hotel cuisine in a contemporary setting. The dining experience offers a hint of nostalgia at the same time indulging diners with a taste of South Australia’s best produce and locally sourced ingredients. A sumptuous High Tea is also offered on the weekends.
 

In Café 55, adjacent to the hotel lobby, patrons can be tempted by delicious crusty baguettes, healthy salads, home-made soups, artisan pies, slow cooked classic braises and exceptional coffee. Guests staying on the executive floors can escape to Hennessy Lounge and indulge in a gourmet breakfast, refreshments and canapés in the afternoon while embracing stunning views across Adelaide from the rooftop Champagne Terrace, lounge, outdoor and bar areas.
 

The hotel was developed by the Adabco Group, which also owns the Adabco Boutique Hotel, a four-star hotel comprising 70 rooms on Wakefield Street. Both Adelaide properties are managed by Ethos Hospitality.
