2013 will be “China Marine Tourism Year”

China National Tourism Administration recently named 2013 “China Marine Tourism Year”, and announced its slogans – “Experience the Sea, Tour China”, “Marine Tourism Shapes the Future” and “Marine Tourism, Unlimited Excitement”.

BEIJING- According to the “Notice on 2013 China Tourism Year and Promotion Taglines” issued by the China National Tourism Administration, the tourism administration organizations in various regions of China are required to develop marine tourism resources, create competitive marine tourism products to make more tourism products available to the market in China, build China’s competitive edge in the international tourism sector, attract foreign travellers to China and promote the steady growth of China’s inbound tourism, and, at the same time, through the marine tourism theme year, foster a good ambience of public involvement in and experience of tourism, meet the market demand and boost the development of tourism in all parts of the country.

The notice also urges all regions to strengthen the combination of tourism resources and products related to sea, rivers and lakes with the cross-regional tourism products based on history, culture, natural scenery, rural ecology and folk customs, encourage different regions to work with each other in such exposure-seeking areas like tourism promotional materials production, advertisement, participation in exhibitions and promotions.

At the same time, authorities make more endeavors to develop new products related to cruise tourism, leisure, vacation, sports, physical fitness and creative culture, cultivate new forms of tourism, optimize the product structure, improve service quality, foster innovations in growth models and facilitate the sound and rapid development of China’s tourism industry.
