Kunming – China International Travel Mart (CITM), the largest professional travel mart in Asia is confirmed to be held in Kunming (Yunnan Province, China) from 24th Oct to 27th October this year.
KUNMING – China International Travel Mart (CITM) 2013 is jointly organized by China National Tourism Administration, Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), a get-together for the world tourism circles with participants coming from all sectors of the travel industry including international and domestic tourist organizations, travel agencies, hotels, airlines and related travel companies.
On 6th June, Director of the National Tourism Administartion of China Shao Qiwei attended the preparatory conference of CITM 2013 in Kunming, emphasizing three requirements for the committee:
1. Make sure to fully understand the main trends in tourism industry at present as well as in the near future, giving a scientific judgement of domestic, outbound and inbound over-night travel market in order to achieve the best results.
2. Ensure the scale and comprehensive benefits of this mart, focusing on improving its level of internationalize and marketization. In the meanwhile, stimulate the activeness of existing exhibitors as well as attract more new comers from our major source markets.
3. Be creative, reduce the duration of general activities to save time for deeper trading talks and tourism investigation.
He also indicated that a special exhibition area would be displayed by Yunnan Province, showing their achievements of tourism digitalization, which would reflect the transformation of tourism industry from a traditional service scope to the modern trades.
CITM 2012 was successfully held in Shanghai last year with participants from over 40 countries and a total 2514 booths displayed. During the four days’ trading, according to incomplete statistics, 7054 contracts were signed and transaction amount reached eight hundred million.
CITM is considered as an important annual event for tourism industry in China which draws attention of both domestic and overseas tourism organizations. So far, the whole preparatory procedure of CITM 2013 has been going smoothly and orderly in Kunming, breakthroughs on scale and overall quality of the mart is expected to be made under the cooperation of both Chinese governmental apartments and related organizations.
