Azerbaijan and Greece plan to arrange mutual information tours for their travel agencies’ reps

A seminar for representatives of travel agencies and hotels of Azerbaijan has started in Baku. According to abc.az, the seminar was organized by the Embassy of Greece in Azerbaijan jointly with the Ministry of Tourism of Azerbaijan. Abulfaz Garayev, the culture & tourism minister of Azerbaijan, says that during the Greek tourism minister’s Baku visit the two countries signed an agreement stipulating the start of joint actions.

“Tourist exchange should expand between our countries and the main issue is staff training with use of rich experience of Greece. For the last two years students of the Institute of Tourism of Azerbaijan and reps of some domestic travel agencies visited Greece top familiarize themselves with activities of its hotels and tourism companies,” the minister said.

Besides seminars, the Ministry is planning organization of mutual information tours. “Six-day special training courses started in Baku today will be conducted for reps of travel agencies and hotels of Azerbaijan at the expense of the Ministry of Tourism of Greece. Specialists arrived from Greece will share their experience. Courses are conducted in English language. I think it is q very important step. At the next stage we expect that an information tour for some our travel agencies in Greece, while reps of the Greek press and tourism firms will come to Azerbaijan to familiarize themselves with domestic tourism potential,” the minister said.

The seminar to last until 6 February will deliver lectures for more than 120 employees of various tourism organizations and hotels of the country. During a week, high-leveled professors of the Greek Tourism Universities will arrive here especially for these seminars.

A gala dinner will be organized upon the completion of the seminar and certificates will be handed over to all participants.
