Amazing Thailand bags two top Indian Travel Awards in one night

NEW DELHI – The Thai tourism industry has won two coveted awards in India, further strengthening the brand image of the kingdom in one of Asia’s most competitive source markets.
 
The first was the Best International Tourism Board 2014 Award won by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and presented at the East India Travel Awards function on 10 October, 2014. The TAT New Delhi Office was recognised for being a “creative, innovative and informative national tourism board in India.
 
The Awards event was held at the Novotel Kolkata, attended by the Tourism Minister of West Bengal and Minister for Tourism and Culture, Odisha, along with numerous senior executives of the East Indian travel industry.

The second coveted award, as the Best Spa Destination, was conferred on Amazing Thailand by Hospitality India. The Awards function took place at The Asoka Hotel in New Delhi on 10 October. Ms. Runjuan Tongrut, Director, TAT New Delhi Office, received this award. Also, in 2013, Thailand received “The Best Spa Destination in Asia” from Asia Spa Magazine.
 
Thailand has become a popular destination for spa holidays, which include a variety of wellness and spa experiences in luxury hotels and resorts. The spa holidays can be tailored to include a variety of authentic Thai massages, fitness programmes, yoga getaways and detox retreats.
 
Ms. Runjuan said, “We are honoured to be recognised by our partners in the travel trade for our work. India is a highly-competitive market with numerous active tourist boards from around the world. We realise the importance of building strong relations with the travel trade and are delighted to be recognised thus.
