American Express Business Travel and Concur announced a global agreement that offers clients one comprehensive corporate travel and expense management program. Powered by Concur Travel & Expense and backed by American Express Business Travel’s leading global travel management services and expertise, corporate customers now have access to a single end-to-end program. The relationship delivers all three components of a best in class travel and expense management program – payment, travel management and expense management.  As part of this relationship, the companies will create a joint product council which will develop new functionality and services exclusively available to companies using this end-to-end program. This extends the successful relationship Concur currently has with American Express through the agreement previously announced with Global Commercial Card.

This global relationship combines two leaders in corporate travel and expense management, and streamlines purchasing and fulfillment of travel and related services with expense processing, reimbursement, analysis and reporting. As the leading provider of business travel management, American Express Business Travel brings its global purchasing power to users of the solution, offering competitive rates for airfare, hotel rates and car rental prices. In addition, the company’s consultative approach to travel and expense management can enable companies to accelerate their savings and maximize return on their travel investment. Concur – trusted by more organizations around the world than any other for travel and expense management – offers companies powerful on-demand travel booking and expense management solutions allowing for greater transparency and control over employee spending and compliance to policy.

“By entering into this agreement with Concur, we are leveraging the strengths of our highly compatible and complementary business models to deliver unique value to our corporate clients,” said Lisa Durocher, senior vice president, global marketing, American Express Business Travel. “With Concur we can provide companies with an integrated process to streamline their travel and expense management process and also offer our consulting expertise to accelerate the benefits of this relationship.

“We strive to provide clients with a powerful and flexible travel and expense management platform that enables them to reduce complexities, control spend and increase savings,” said Rajeev Singh, president and COO of Concur. “Together with American Express Business Travel, we can offer a complete, end-to-end global solution for companies of all sizes that maximizes their travel investments.”

This unique end-to-end approach leverages Concur’s world-class technology to help clients manage T&E spending and enjoy unrivaled access to the broadest array of travel and expense data. Companies can also enjoy the added benefit of American Express Business Travel’s experience advising clients on organizational change management. This includes consulting available from American Express Business Travel’s Advisory Services which can guide client companies through the implementation process and  help accelerate employee adoption

“Travel and entertainment is one of the largest categories of controllable spend for most organizations,” said Andrew Bartolini, vice president & group director, Global Supply Management Research for Aberdeen Group. “Our research indicates strong demand for solutions that take a holistic approach to the management of this category. Today’s agreement between Concur and American Express Business Travel enables this approach and is a logical extension of the existing partnership between these two respected companies.”
