Hot on the heels of last week’s confirmation of a partnership with Cairns Airport, Australia, the global aviation route development expert has confirmed another commission; this time from Auckland Airport, New Zealand. The retained contract will involve establishing strategies for a number of areas, including tourism routes development.
Glenn Wedlock, General Manager aeronautical business development for Auckland Airport, said: “Here at Auckland we are keen to continue a strategy of growth and have engaged ASM as the experts to ensure we go about this in the most efficient and effective way.”
An important part of the project will involve ASM working with Auckland to attract new airlines to the airport. The consultancy team has already begun advanced discussions with carriers such as Air Asia X.
John Grant, Managing Director of ASM, said: “This contract represents a very positive step for the company as ASM expands its business in the Australasian market and begins to see the benefit of our newest regional office – run by consultant Gordon Bevan, in Wellington, New Zealand – and the recent increase in resources in our Kuala Lumpur office.”
