The building and construction industry in Antalya / Turkey

Antalya will continue to be the tourism capital of Turkey with its new facility investments during 2008. Tourism facilities in Antalya consist of almost 60% of all facilities in Turkey, and each year new investments are built in the region. 25 of 61 new luxury hotel investments in Turkey during 2008 will be built in Antalya. The building industry in Antalya never pauses with the increasing number of foreign passengers arriving to the region.

The investments are accelerated with the risk of double reservations at existent hotels, increasing number of agreements with foreign travel agencies, the news about arrivals, and demand on second homes.

International hotel chains speed up their new investments in Antalya. Movenpick Hotels and Resorts will be managing 10 hotels in 2010. Their first stage for new projects starts from Antalya. InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will launch Crowne Plaza Antalya next months. In their agenda there will be new investments during 2009 and 2010.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide is very active for the new projects this year. The group which is managing 4 hotels in Turkey will be managing 20 hotels in a short time. Hilton Hotels will build 20 hotels in 5 years which will cost 100 million dollars. Bvlgari Hotel will come to Turkey with Marriott Group. Accor Goup’s main target in Turkey is to build 60 hotels in 10 years which will cost approximately 1 billion dollars. Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts will be 10 hotels till 2012.

The tourism income of Turkey increases 28,4% in 3 months, in comparison to the same term of the last year, coming up to 2,776 billion dollars.
