Singapore’s first Ramada and Days Hotel brands on-track to debut by Q1 next year

S$300 million integrated development at Zhongshan Park to help transform Balestier into a ‘haven of hospitality and heritage’

SINGAPORE – Singapore’s HH Properties Pte. Ltd., a joint venture between niche property development group, Hiap Hoe Limited, and SuperBowl Holdings Limited, an owner and manager of leisure and commercial properties, today announced that its first hotel development project in the country is on-track for completion and both hotels will fully open to guests by the first quarter of next year.

The Ramada and Days Hotels Singapore at Zhongshan Park will also mark the brands’ first entry into Singapore and will be managed by Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest and most diverse hospitality company.

“The Balestier area is rich in culture and history and what we want to create with these new hotels at Zhongshan Park is a contemporary integrated development with strong heritage elements. There is an upward trend in travellers looking for quality accommodation in heritage sites such as Balestier as they seek authentic local experiences and the development is poised to tap into this fast-growing cultural tourism segment,” said Teo Ho Beng, Executive Chairman and CEO of Hiap Hoe Group.

Offering a combined total of almost 800 rooms across the three- and four-star hotel segment, the Ramada and Days Hotels Singapore at Zhongshan Park is the first hotel-by-the-park development in the country and is expected to play an integral part in the transformation of the Balestier locale. The S$300 million development will also include a commercial tower, a shopping mall, and a range of restaurants and bars flanking Zhongshan Park offering guests and visitors a wide choice of dining options.

“The development sits within the ‘Balestier Heritage Trail’ in an area that has rich historical roots, cultural connections and some of the best local flavours in Singapore. We want to ensure that this heritage is reflected in both properties across the hotels’ design features. For example, Ramada Singapore’s guest rooms will have distinctive woven décor inspired by Balestier’s past as a sugar cane plantation,” added Teo.

“Set to transform Balestier into a haven of hospitality and heritage, both hotels will provide value-conscious travellers the choice between two comfortable accommodations and all the conveniences of being part of an integrated development with a variety of shopping and cultural options in one single destination,” said Tony Cousens, General Manager, Ramada and Days Hotels at Zhongshan Park.

Offering ‘The Best Value Under the Sun’, the 14-storey Days Hotel Singapore at Zhongshan Park, scheduled to open on 31 December 2012, offers 405 contemporary guest rooms decorated in a vibrant avant-garde style. The hotel will have all ‘the smart basics’ that every traveller seeks in a hotel room, such as free hi-speed WIFI, 24-hour gym and a hearty breakfast worth waking up for. The hotel also features an all-day dining restaurant, 21 on Rajah, offering mainly Mediterranean, local and South East Asian fare.

The 17-storey Ramada Singapore at Zhongshan Park will be the only four-star international chain hotel in the Novena district. Scheduled to open in March 2013, the hotel will have 384 well-appointed guest rooms with contemporary elegance enhanced by distinctive décor and refined touches designed to cater to both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, Flavours at Zhongshan Park, offering Straits Chinese and western cuisines as well as The Heritage Lounge lobby bar, 24-hour room service, a business centre, gym and a pool. The hotel will also offer 540 square meters of meeting and banquet space, making it a perfect venue option for smaller-scale corporate meetings, social and wedding events.

Conveniently located at the fringe of the city centre, both hotels are a five minutes drive from Novena MRT and close to the Velocity and United Square shopping malls and office towers, Novena Medical hub and the newly-opened Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. For added convenience, complimentary shuttle services between Zhongshan Park and Novena MRT will be provided to guests.
