SIA improves its FFP with new rewards and payment options

Singapore Airlines is introducing a new payment option for airfares booked through singaporeair.com, as part of a significant enhancement to the KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme.

SINGAPORE- From now, members will be able to use their KrisFlyer miles to pay for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights booked through the SIA website.

Customers can choose to mix miles and cash to pay for their next airfare, including payment for fuel surcharges and taxes. With a minimum of 5,000 miles to start using this feature, customers will have the opportunity to use their KrisFlyer miles earlier, and before they expire.

Together with existing award redemptions, KrisFlyer members will now have more choice in using their miles on any available seat and flight on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir. KrisFlyer members can also use their miles to pay for air tickets for any of their five redemption nominees.

“This significant enhancement to the KrisFlyer programme has come about as a result of feedback that we have received from our customers. We have listened, and are pleased to offer another option for KrisFlyer members to use their miles for travel on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir,” said Singapore Airlines’ Executive Vice President Commercial, Mr Mak Swee Wah.“The enhancements to our loyalty programme will not stop here. Members can look forward to further enhancements in the year ahead.”

From next year, members will be able to use their miles to cover the cost of fuel surcharges and taxes for redemption tickets, as well as other items such as preferred seats.

Today, members have the flexibility to earn miles which can be used for ticket redemptions in all classes of travel. In addition to Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights, members can earn KrisFlyer miles through travel with 31 airline partners and spend with 172 non-airline partners.
