Quadriga encourages hoteliers to look beyond entertainment

Qadriga is unveiling its next generation technology platform to help hoteliers deliver a fully branded guest experience, improve their in-room communication with guests and take advantage of new commercial opportunities.

Ηoteliers working in the competitive hotel market need to regularly reassess how to differentiate their guest experience and brand from competitors.  This situation is exacerbated further in the current economic climate, where the need to communicate tailored special offers to guests is often a key business requirement. To add to this pressure, hotel owners want to provide the range of information and entertainment services their tech-savvy guests are accustomed to receiving at home.

“We have taken the original notion of the in-room TV a substantial step beyond entertainment and have developed a portal concept that responds to the way in which consumers now use technology to interact, shop and entertain. Guest experience is a key differentiator for all hotels. Our new portal will build and enhance this experience and enable hotels to engender guest loyalty and enhance their brand,” comments Marc Budie, technology director at Quadriga.

Quadriga’s portal concept is based on one of the fastest chipsets available for the market and integrates a new content management system and design management tools, with a high resolution HD-capable internet browser to deliver an intuitive guest internet experience.

Guests will be able to access the portal through their in-room TV to view hotel and local information including travel, financial and weather reports, browse hotel facilities, visit the hotel e-shop, or choose from an unrivalled range of entertainment in superb high definition quality.

Tailored to specifically support each hotel’s business objectives and drive additional value, the portal will allow hoteliers to promote and sell their hotel facilities and services, such as selling bookings for the spa, restaurant and golf course, future room reservations and hotel special offers. The portal will also help hotels reduce costs by replacing paper-based in-room information, enabling guests to access details online.

Conceived by leading designers who specialise in interactive TV and integrated web design, Quadriga’s new technology platform will deliver a crystal-clear high definition experience in 25 languages, including Japanese, Arabic and Chinese and will be intuitive and simple to use with a new remote control.

Quadriga is set to commercially install the initial version of its next generation platform in 2010. The company will continue to develop a suite of new applications, ensuring it builds its portal concept to suit hotel customers’ future needs as the current economic environment evolves.
