The announcement marks Pleasant Holidays’ return to Japan after a 10-year hiatus. Pleasant Holidays originally purchased Japan & Orient Tours, a major Asia tour operator, in 1997 and evolved it into the Pleasant Asia Holidays brand, which operated for more than 10 years. Pleasant Holidays exited the Japan & Asia market during the economic recession in 2009.
