PCEB worked together with 10 of their hotel industry partners respectively to provide a total of 370 packaged food for the children and caretakers in 10 orphanages and social organisations.
Penang, Malaysia: The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) carried out the BE @ Penang 2020 CSR programme from the proceeds of the conference. BE @ Penang 2020 was held virtually with a registration fee of RM50, which pledged for a CSR food donation with orphanages in Penang.
PCEB worked together with 10 of their hotel industry partners respectively to provide a total of 370 packaged food for the children and caretakers in 10 orphanages and social organisations. The safety & health precautions as well as social-distancing SOPs were adhered while the food donations were carried out.
“This is following the pledge made by the bureau to give back to the community based on the contributions from the industry collected from the BE @ Penang 2020 conference: BE Inevitable that happened from Dec 10 – 11. At the same time, we would also like to provide support for our hotel partners in their efforts to sustain their business,” shared PCEB CEO Ashwin Gunasekeran.
The hotel partners also contributed care kits that included face masks and hand sanitisers as well as some partners matched the donation with additional food items.
