BALI, INDONESIA – Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort recently hosted the biggest jazz festival in Bali to date welcoming more than 1,000 jazz enthusiasts over the 3-day period. The glamorous event was held during Easter weekend, 29th to 31st March.

The Easter Jazz Festival is the second event of the very successful Nirwana Bali Jazz Series; launched in September 2012 in conjunction with Bakrieland Development Tbk and in partnership with Prime Time Jazz.

Jazz acts featuring notable jazz musicians from Jakarta and Bali were performed in the Amphitheatre. Guests were entertained by world class Jazz performances against the stunning backdrop of Bali’s iconic Tanah Lot Temple amongst the rice paddies offering a truly supreme cultural experience.

The Nirwana Bali Jazz Series is organised by Bakrieland Hotels & Resorts together with Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort with a clear focus and mission to continuously support the development of jazz music and musicians in Indonesia.

“The character of jazz music and its strong spirit, improvisation and creativity blends perfectly with the core values that Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort embraces. We believe we are creating a beautiful harmony between the Balinese community and the original Isle of Gods, in our commitment to promoting the cultural sense of Indonesia” said Ivan Casadevall, General Manager of Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort.

The second Nirwana Bali Jazz Series provided an excellent opportunity for the resort to recognise and support local and international jazz musicians and give them a unique platform to perform in Bali. The jazz event also enhances the development of jazz music in Indonesia.  Guests were treated to performances from well-known Jazz musicians; Syaharani, Tompi, Asti Asha, Amelia Ong, Idang Rasjidi, Yance Manusama, Cendi Luntungan, Barry Likumahuwa, Taufan Goenarso, Ahmad Ananda, Doni Joesran, Koko Harsoe & Friends and Ito Kurdhi Quartet, as well as other special guest jazz artists in the island.

The jazz musicians voluntarily presented a one-day Jazz Clinic to share their expertise with the Balinese community and children around the resort area in Beraban Village who were interested in learning about jazz music. Various social activities were organised by the resort and a donation given to the children in Beraban Village to support their education through the Foundation for Education (Yayasan Pendidikan Desa Baraban). The jazz event was uniquely combined with a fun golf tournament. And the Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia and the Small and Medium Industries (SMI) showcased and marketed traditional home-industry products made by Balinese community.
