LONDON — The Asia Pacific hotel development pipeline comprises 1,875 hotels totalling 414,053 rooms, according to the October 2013 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report.
Among the markets in the region, Manila, Philippines reported the largest expected supply growth (+37.4 percent) if all 8,838 rooms in the total active pipeline open. Four other markets reported expected supply growth of more than 25 percent: Bengaluru, India (33.5 percent with 5,766 rooms); Delhi, India (30.3 percent with 8,732 rooms); Chengdu, China (26.4 percent with 9,145 rooms); and Jakarta, Indonesia (26.3 percent with 9,262 rooms).
