Recognised as the pinnacle of achievement for the international hospitality industry, the WLHA is a global organisation that pays tribute to hotels for their world class facilities and service excellence. The organisation aims to encourage and raise service standards within the luxury hotel industry.
The criteria to be successfully nominated and included in the official WLHA voting process is overall service excellence. The award judging process is not dependent on a board of directors, but by the industry itself through public voting by tour operators, travel consultants, industry experts and guests that have stayed at these hotels.
Over 1,000 hotels from 87 countries were nominated to participate in this year’s awards. Winners are recognised on a country, continent, and global basis; and properties that received the most votes were awarded global winner being the overall luxury winner of a specific category.
