KLM enlists Ink and MediaPartners to produce a world class inflight magazine

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has appointed Ink and MediaPartners Group to publish its monthly inflight magazine, Holland Herald, starting with the January 2010 issue. The magazine is carried on all KLM flights, reaching over 23 million passengers per year.

Every issue of the magazine will have its own creative theme. It will include engaging editorial with an international outlook as well as a section focusing on Dutch culture and the Netherlands as a travel destination. Holland Herald also includes pages on the airline’s products, services and retail offering.

Holland Herald will be published and sold by Ink, with MediaPartners responsible for editorial and design.

Frederic van Nierop, KLM’s Media Manager, said: “We are excited to be working with Ink and MediaPartners to produce a truly world class publication. The combination of MediaPartners’ sophisticated editorial approach and Ink’s global sales and publishing capabilities will enable us to deliver a newsstand quality magazine that speaks to our premium audience.”

Jeffrey O’Rourke, Chief Executive of Ink, added: “We are very honoured to be appointed to publish such a well known title for one of the world’s great airlines. KLM is not only a European powerhouse, but a truly global, first class carrier. We look forward to collaborating with KLM and MediaPartners to make Holland Herald an invigorating read for passengers and a commercial driver for the airline.”

Alec Bergsma, CEO of MediaPartners said: “We are keen to work with KLM and Ink to take Holland Herald to the next level. Having created content for the magazine since 1966, it’s exciting to be taking the title forward through this fresh joint venture.”
