HOTELEX Shanghai expands O2O experience at 2016 fair

HOTELEX is the second of five pilot programs between UBM and Alibaba's B2B business unit in the strategic alliance announced on 10 December last year. The event takes place 29 March through 1 April 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Shanghai, China.

SHANGHAI – As part of UBM‘s strategic alliance with Alibaba.com, whereby Alibaba’s B2B business unit will create the next generation of online to offline (O2O) experiences, the Shanghai International Hotel Equipment and Supply Expo (HOTELEX Shanghai) – one of the flagship events organized by UBM Sinoexpo Ltd. – will open its doors for its 25 th edition as a premier partner event with Alibaba.com. 
 
HOTELEX is the second of five pilot programs between UBM and Alibaba’s B2B business unit in the strategic alliance announced on 10 December last year. The event takes place 29 March through 1 April 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Shanghai, China.
 
Under this cooperation, visitors  to and buyers at HOTELEX Shanghai 2016 can enjoy better sourcing experiences with Chinese exhibitors who have joined Alibaba.com’s Trade Assurance — a free program that provides various levels of protection to buyers in relation to product quality and shipment time committed by sellers on Alibaba.com.  
 
Exhibitors at HOTELEX Shanghai 2016 who are enrolled in Trade Assurance as eligible sellers will therefore gain additional credibility  with buyers who source through Alibaba.com.  
 
In addition, visitors can learn about the latest trends and opportunities in the cross-border trading environment through various forums onsite — for example, how OneTouch, a subsidiary of Alibaba.com, provides exporters with trading services including customs clearance and logistics enhancing export efficiency; and the sourcing opportunities on 1688.com, one of the biggest wholesale trading platforms in China.
