Horwath HTL launches CHAT hotel conferences

The conferences, which are held in Beijing in March and Shanghai in September used to be called the China Hotel and Development Conferences, has been upgraded and re-launched as CHAT, which stands for China Hotel and Tourism.

BEIJING – Horwath HTL, the world’s oldest and largest hospitality consulting network have rebranded their China conferences. The conferences, which are held in Beijing in March and Shanghai in September used to be called the China Hotel and Development Conferences, has been upgraded and re-launched as CHAT, which stands for China Hotel and Tourism.

The change reflects the growing size and scope of the industry and addresses the need to encompass all areas of the business to get an accurate reflection of the market. The CHAT conference in March will focus on the classic areas of hotel development and investment, looking at financing, development models, new brands, construction as well as having unique data on hotel performance provided by STR Global and Horwath HTL.

CHAT Shanghai in September focuses on the Asset Management and Operational side of the business, and is tailored for owners looking to maximize their return in the sector. The conference looks at important operational factors, such as asset management, positioning, sales and marketing strategies and will feature unique information from Horwath HTL’s China Hotel Industry Study.

Nigel Summers, Director of Horwath HTL Greater China said, “We are very excited to present the new format to the market. We have felt for some time that hotel development and asset management and operating issues are too important to shoehorn into one event. Having two events allows us to not only focus on each area to give them the depth and quality they deserve, but means we can cover two really important hotel markets, Beijing and Shanghai in the same year. It didn’t seem right to do one or the other and force our clients to choose, this way we get the best of both worlds. ”
