Hong Kong Airlines’ Kagoshima and Tianjin routes recorded strong sales

Both Kagoshima and Tianjin routes recorded strong sales since the inaugural on 30 March and 31 March.

HONG KONG – Hong Kong Airlines announced the sales update of its Kagoshima and Tianjin routes. The company launched Kagoshima and Tianjin routes on 30 March and 31 March respectively, both recorded strong sales since the inaugural. The average expected passenger load factor (“PLF”) of the Kagoshima route from April to June reached 80%, while the corresponding expected PLF of the Tianjin route is 80-85%. In view of the brisk demand, the company will increase the frequency of the Tianjin route to a daily flight by mid-May.
 
Mr. Alex Wu, General Manager of Hong Kong Sales Office, said, as the only direct route between Hong Kong and Kagoshima, the Kagoshima route has recorded vigorous sales since its launch. Foreign independent tourists from Hong Kong constitute the major of the customer source.

Meanwhile, the feedback from travel agencies shows increasing group orders as well. Benefiting from the recent value tickets promotion, the ticket sales of some flights even reached over 90%. Going forward, Hong Kong Airlines will corporate with Kagoshima government to develop more products featuring Kagoshima’s exclusive scenery so as to cater to our customers.
 

The launch of Tianjin route further enhances communications between the two cities. Leveraging Hong Kong’s favourable location as an international air hub, passengers from Tianjin are able to transfer to popular travel destinations including Bali, Taiwan and Vietnam via the route network of Hong Kong Airlines. To meet the growing demand of the passengers, the Company plans to increase the frequency of Tianjin route to five flights per week (with each on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) starting from 19 April, and further to daily flight starting from 12 May.
 
The current network of Hong Kong Airlines covers about 24 hot pick business and leisure travel destinations in the South East Asia and China. By expanding our fleet, the company will continue to enhance its network and boost capacity, offering our customers more diverse travel options.
