Holiday Inn Express makes its Indonesian debut in Bali

Holiday Inn Express, one of the fastest growing hotel brands in the world, will soon make its debut in Bali, Indonesia. Holiday Inn Express hotels are designed as the smart choice for value-conscious business and leisure travellers, focusing on the things that matters the most to them – comfort and convenience.

The Holiday Inn Express brand is part of IHG, the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms. IHG signed the management agreement with PT. Wismatama Indah Makmur, which is owned by the Lukminto family.

The new Holiday Inn Express will be located in the heart of Bali’s leisure district, Legian. Situated along Jalan Imam Bonjol, the hotel is only a few minutes walk away from Istana Kuta Galleria, Bali Bakery and other food and beverage establishments and activities. The proposed 160-room Holiday Inn Express Bali Legian is slated to start construction mid this year, and projected to open by early 2013.

Jan Smits, Chief Executive of IHG Asia Australasia, said, “The key to Holiday Inn Express’ rapid expansion is the value it provides for the mid-market, select service segment. Focused on providing only what guests need, and not charging for what they don’t, it is truly the smarter choice for today’s independent travellers.”

“We have confidence that Holiday Inn Express’ strong value proposition will resonate well with the market. Bali is Indonesia’s most popular holiday destination and is a great location for us to introduce the brand to the country. We continue to look for the right opportunities to expand Holiday Inn Express’ presence in other key Indonesian cities.”

Holiday Inn Express Bali Legian will operate under the new brand standards that were rolled out recently as part of the Holiday Inn family of brands global $1-billion relaunch, ensuring a consistent and increased level of quality in service and amenities. In addition to having a gym, swimming pool and self-service laundry, the new hotel also features the Great Room, a relaxing social lounge space for guests to connect, meet, eat and relax.

“There are many upscale and luxury accommodation options within Bali, but Holiday Inn Express Bali Legian serves instead to meet visitors’ demands for quality hotels at the right location and at the right price. A key global player in the industry, IHG has the experience and scale we look for in a partner – we are delighted to be able to work together and debut the Holiday Inn Express brand in Indonesia,” said Pak Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto, Commissioner of PT. Wismatama Indah Makmur.

Holiday Inn Express attracts value-oriented guests who want a quality hotel at a competitive price. To offer real convenience to the leisure and business markets, Holiday Inn hotels are located in major and secondary cities’ key business and leisure districts, with convenient access to food and beverage establishments, entertainment and activities. Where travellers find a Holiday Inn Express, they know they are guaranteed a warm welcome, genuine service, a clean, comfortable room and complimentary high-speed internet and breakfast.

Globally, there are currently 2,075 Holiday Inn Express hotels located across major cities. In Asia Pacific, the brand is expanding rapidly from its current 30 hotels and will open new hotels in Thailand, Singapore and India within the next few years.
