EVA Air launched nonstop passenger flights between Toronto and Taipei on Monday, 29 March, 2010, expanding its service in Canada and giving travelers from Ontario and Eastern Canada a new choice in cabin service. In addition to EVA’s Premium Laurel business and Economy cabins, passengers can book the airline’s award-winning Elite Class premium economy.
EVA Air was the first airline to roll out a distinctive premium economy cabin in-between economy and business on 12 Dec., 1992 when it introduced the first edition of its Elite Class to travelers on its first flight to North America. An attractive, affordable and comfortable choice, Elite Class passengers travel in wider seats with deeper cushions, leg- and foot-rests, a 38-in. pitch and individual seat-back mounted audio/video on-demand entertainment systems with a choice of movies, features, music, games, duty-free shopping and more.
EVA’s flights shave hours off of travel time for residents of Toronto and Eastern Canada who fly back and forth to Asia for family, business and leisure. As a global city and financial powerhouse, Toronto fits nicely into EVA’s well-developed network, linked through Taipei to leading business and leisure destinations throughout Asia and worldwide. EVA’s flight BR35 departs Toronto’s Pearson International Airport at 01:30 (1:30 am) on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and lands in Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport at 05:25 (5:25 am) on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Flight BR36 returns from Taoyuan at 18:40 (6:40 pm) on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and arrives back in Toronto at 20:55 (8:55 pm) the same day it leaves Asia. Approximate flight time from Toronto to Taipei is 16 hours and from Taoyuan back to Toronto, 14 hours and 15 minutes. EVA is operating a new, technically advanced Boeing 777-300ER on the Toronto route.
Passengers from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) can now fly to Taipei and make easy same-day onward connections to Manila, Phnom Penh, Saigon, Hanoi, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Macau and 15 destinations in China. Travelers bound for North America are discovering Taipei to be a welcoming portal for flights to Toronto where they can continue on to Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and Halifax with minimal transit time.
In addition to competitive fares and service options to fit a broad range of business travelers, EVA has also worked with travel agents to create tour packages that complement current products offered in Canada and America.
